Every winter I find myself having to play this back and forth game with my clothes and accessories. Welcome to Michigan, where the climate gets weird, ALL YEAR LONG. I wouldn’t live anywhere else at this point, only because I have become a master of sorts at manipulating my wardrobe to meet Mother Nature’s love for being irrational.
There are a few staple pieces that I always rotate in and out of my week, weather dependent and they have quickly become my absolute favorites.
These flannel shirts from Old Navy are so great. ((psst…they are on a really good sale right now! RUN!)) They are light weight enough that even on the “warm” cold days, you can wear it by itself or layer it for the super cold days. I did go up a size only because I feel like with Old Navy shirts, they shrink more than the first time you wear them.
I guess I have never talked about under garments before, but these tights have been my absolute favorite from Target. They hold me in and come in a ton of amazing colors and opacity. And for under $10, I usually throw mine out at the end of the season and buy new the next.
Everyone who knows me, knows that I love a good vest, and, in my opinion, Old Navy just does it for me with them. I have a few of these (on sale for under $20) from previous years that I still rock but these lightweight vests (very limited sizes but also on sale) are amazing to layer on top of those flannel shirts I just mentioned.
If I had to pick one place to find unique shoes that are affordable for all seasons, Just Fab (right now they have booties for $10) would be the place. I was super skeptical on them at the beginning, but I have only had good luck. They have a tons of deals if you are VIP (you can skip months) and with our brutal seasons and the way I am with my shoes, having shoes that I can beat into the ground and not feel bad for the amount of money I paid for them is key.
I have yet to find a good pair of jeans. So, if any of you have a good recommendation for me to try, I would live to hear it! They are a piece in my closet that is lacking, and I do love a good jean.
Old Navy really pulled out all the stops this season. I have to say, I am really a hit or miss with them. Thanks, old navy for having hella sales and keep me warm in what feels like the tundra some days.
